Endurance Company History

Endurance Warranty Services has been in business since 2006 when it was founded by Paul Chernawsky and Jordan Batt.  This company specializes in the administration of extended car warranties, or vehicle service contracts as Endurance Warranty Services calls them, which car dealerships offer to the consumers. They became a certified member of the VPA, or Vehicle Protection Agency, in 2009.  This national company promotes self regulating of the sale of vehicle service contracts directly to the consumer.

VPA’s Standard of Conduct disallows any company that sells vehicle service contracts directly to the consumer to use the term “warranty” in the company name.  Endurance Warranty Company complied with the Standard set by VPA by creating a DBA in the name of Endurance Vehicle Protection.

They enlisted Courtney Hansen, well known automobile personality and expert, to be the spokesperson of Endurance Vehicle Protection’s national direct-to-consumer marketing campaign in 2011.  She’s been featured in many nationally broadcast commercials and online ads for the company.

2012 marked the beginning of Endurance Vehicle Protection becoming their own service contract administers. This is not widely done and makes Endurance Vehicle Protection stand out from the rest because of it.  They are with the consumer from the quote through the administration of the contracts which means trust, consistency, and real relationships develop between the consumer and EVP.  Instead of a middleman pr 3rd party being used to handle the service contracts and anything that arises concerning them. Endurance Vehicle Protection is there, familiar with the process and ready to help out the consumers who need them.

The company is based out of Northbrook, Illinois and has an A+ rating with the BBB, where they are an accredited member.  They are one of only ten companies in the whole country that have earned a gold certification by the VPA.  Their accomplishments continue in 2013 when they ranked in the top five at the LeadsCon trade show in Las Vegas, NV with an impressive response time of 32 seconds.  In 2014 Endurance Vehicle Protection won the Gold Stevie Award for its category and also was nominated for Customer Service Department of the Year- Advertising, Marketing and PR, Business Services or Diversified Services at the 2014 Stevie Awards.

EVP’s Qualification Process

Getting started with the process of finding a good vehicle protection plan starts on the Endurance Warranty Services website where they will direct you to get a quote. This online form will ask you for some information that you need to fill out:

  • Make and model of vehicle
  • Year and current mileage of your vehicle
  • First and Last name
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Zip code

Fill this mini form out with honest and correct information.  Once this has been done, you can expect to be contacted by an agent representing Endurance Warranty Services to get a better and more thorough idea of what you want in a vehicle protection Plan.  You can expect, in most cases, to receive 3-4 calls from different agents.  If you already talk to one agent and get another phone call from a different, all you need to do is explain briefly that you are already being handled by another agent and could they take you off the call list.

It’s not that Endurance is trying to harass you; it’s just that once you submit the request, it’s automatically released to a few of their representatives to ensure that you receive the quote you have asked for in a timely manner.  One or more of the agents that get your phone number could be away from their desks, or is on vacation or out for the evening.  Endurance doesn’t want their potential customers to have to sit around waiting for a response to their requests.

There is no obligation to buy anything on this phone call so don’t worry, even if they offer to start your policy right away.  This gives you a chance to speak to the agent and figure out what you’re looking for and compare it to what they offer.  During this conversation with the agent, they will ask you several questions about your car and lifestyle. They will ask you what you are looking for in terms of length of warranty and how much driving you do. These answers will help them put together a good package for you that will meet your needs and your budget.

One thing to understand when you are looking for an extended car warranty quote is that there is no way to give you a one price fits all amount. There are many factors that are taken into consideration when an agent puts together a quote for you including but not limited to.

  • The age of your vehicle
  • The mileage your vehicle has
  • How often the vehicle is driven each month

Coverage Plans Endurance Warranty Services Offers

Endurance Warranty Services offer three different plan options for you to choose from; Secure, Superior and Supreme.  The details of each are outlined below and give you a better idea of what type of coverage each brings you.  All three of these coverage plans are accepted at your own car dealership or by 350,000 certified mechanics/repair shops in the United States and Canada.

Secure Protection Plan

The Secure plan is the most affordable coverage plan and covers the most important parts of your vehicle that can potentially need repair. They are also generally the most expensive to repair so having coverage that helps reduce the amount you have to pay out of pocket can be really helpful. The Secure Plan includes:

  • Drive Axle
  • Engine Components
  • Seals and Gaskets (only covered if part of the repair of the other covered components in this plan. Minor fluid loss or seeping is not covered as it is not considered serious)
  • Transfer Unit
  • Transmission Components
  • Turbo Charger/ Supercharger
  • Rental Car Benefits
  • 24/7 Roadside Assistance

Roadside Assistance Details

Roadside Assistance is a valuable type of coverage to have since you never know when you might be stuck on the side of the road in a broken down car.  The Secure Protection Plan includes 24/7 roadside assistance and will cover ONE of the services listed below per every 72 hour period.

  • Mechanical first aid – any service that requires an adjustment, not including the parts, to get the car running again under its own power.
  • Tire Service – changing a flat tire with your own spare
  • Battery Service – using a booster battery to attempt to get your vehicle started again
  • Gas/Fluid Delivery – will deliver needed fuel or fluid (cost of fuel/fluid NOT included and must be paid for)
  • Towing service – 25 mile or less tow is covered completely
  • Lockout Service – if you lock your keys inside the car, a locksmith will be dispatched to assist
  • Trip interruption reimbursement

There is additional Add-On coverage options that you can choose to add to your Secure Protection Plan.  Be sure to talk to your agent for all of the specifics concerning these add-ons so you know exactly what is covered and what isn’t. These choices for add on include:

  • Commercial Use Option – if your vehicle is used for commercial purposes of any kind
  • Tire Modification/Body or Suspension Lift Option
  • Hybrid Vehicle Option

Superior Protection Plan

Endurance’s Superior Protection Plan offers the highest level of component coverage you can get without getting full bumper to bumper coverage.  There are hundreds of components covered that give you excellent coverage from the engine to the rear suspension. This is a great peace of mind coverage plan. The Superior Protection Plan includes:

  • Air Conditioner

Supreme Protection Plan

If you’re looking for the most peace of mind you can get from an extended car warranty, then the Supreme Protection Plan is it. This plan is very similar to the factory warranty your vehicle may have or have had and are often called “Bumper to Bumper” warranties. Even though the systems are listed below, the individual parts covered are so numerous, it’s simpler for the company to list what they DON’T cover.  Your agent will go over the exclusions with you at the time you get your contract and coverage. This plan offers the maximum protection for all of your vehicle’s parts.  The Supreme Plan includes:

Filing a Claim

Endurance Warranty Services offers two ways to get a claim filed if you ever need to.  The first option is for those who already have a regular mechanic who works on their vehicles.  Make sure that your mechanic/repair shop is ASE certified.  When you go into to have your vehicle looked at when a potential mechanical problem arises, give the mechanic your Endurance card.  They will diagnose the problem and then call an Endurance Warranty Services agent to discuss it with them PRIOR to doing ANY work on your vehicle.  It is important that no work be done to the vehicle before the claim is approved or they could refuse it altogether.

The second option you can use to file a claim is if you don’t already have an ASE certified mechanic that you use.  If that is the case, just give Endurance a call at 1-866-432-4443 and talk to one of the helpful customer care representatives who will find an ASE certified mechanic in your area, set up an appointment for you and take care of the payment process as well.  Either option is easy to do and involves no hassle on your part which is Endurance’s goal for their customers.
