If you’re looking for a way to get rid of annoying and persistent blackheads naturally, this 100% Natural Blackhead Remover may be what you’re looking for. It is packed with Sea Kelp extract along with Red Algae extract.

These marine extracts have tons of vitamin-rich marine plants that provide the skin with a multitude of anti-aging benefits along with plenty of conditioning.

Another important ingredient, Hyaluronic Acid, eliminates harmful toxins and germs from the skin and leaves it blackhead and whitehead free.

We loved the results of using this product. Pores were noticeably minimized after we used this product for a few days. The pure botanicals present in the product act as natural oil regulators which shrink the pores; this results in skin that is youthful, younger looking and vibrant.

Another fantastic ingredient present in this blackhead remover is Laminaria Digitata extract which contains high doses of fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals. It also contains amino acids and antioxidants that help you maintain a healthy glow. This product includes only all-natural ingredients which are great for your skin.

Best Budget Blackhead Remover

Tackle blackheads where they live, deep in your pores, with these deep-cleansing pore strips that are perfect for getting rid of blackheads and other impurities, both easily and quickly.

We liked that these strips were easy to apply and could be removed with very little pain. We could actually see the dirt and blackheads on the strips after they were removed.

This product will refresh your skin and leave it feeling clean and invigorated. The trips are unscented and hypoallergenic too so anyone can use them, even those with sensitive skin. They are oil free so you don’t have to worry about adding excess oil to your skin.

There are different strip sizes in the box to fit all the normal trouble spots where blackheads can appear: the nose, the forehead and the chin. With continued use we also noticed a decrease in pore size which helped our makeup go on much smoother and easier.

These strips are quite easy to use. Twist after removing from the pouch to separate the slits. Wet your nose then peel the liner off the pore strip. Apply the smooth side down to the skin and press over the surface of the strip to ensure good contact.

Let the strip dry for about 15 minutes then it is ready to remove. Carefully peel it off starting at the edges and pulling towards the center. Don’t use these strips more than once every three days as overuse can irritate your skin.

Blackhead Remover Buying Guide

Blackhead Remover Buying Guide

What is Blackhead Remover?

Blackheads are caused by an oil, also known as sebum, that is secreted by the skin and skin cells and builds up in hair follicles. If an abundance of sebum is produced the resulting buildup of oil blocks the pore and bacteria accumulates in the follicle. The result of this buildup in your hair follicles is called a comedone.

Whiteheads and blackheads are both comedones but there is a difference between them. Whitehead comedones are completely blocked, sealing off the pore. A blackhead comedone has a hole in the pore that allows air to get inside. Melanin, a pigment contained in sebum, has a reaction when exposed to air that is called oxidation. The oxidation process is what turns the pigment in the pore black. Many people think that blackheads are dirt but that is false. They are simply pores which have sebum exposed to oxygen.

Hormonal imbalances are the most common cause of blackheads. The main culprit is a hormone known as DHT which is the hormone also responsible for problems with the hair follicles on your head and with causing hair loss. This hormonal imbalance can also cause breakouts during pregnancy and menopause. Unhealthy diets have been targeted with causing problems too since poor eating habits can also cause hormonal imbalances.

Genetics and skin-type are two additional factors that contribute to how prone a person is to breakouts and blackheads. If your skin is oily or you have a T-zone you will notice more occurrences of blackheads and other blemishes.

Getting Rid of Blackheads

Once you start to see blackheads on your face, neck, and arms, you will want to get the best possible blackhead remover to remove them. There are several ways to successfully get rid of blackheads. We will list these different methods below:

  • Topical method – There are numerous OTC creams and gels that can be used for dissolving and removing blackheads and preventing further outbreaks. Some of the stronger topical methods are only by prescription and are for extremely severe cases of blackheads and acne.
  • Pore strips – These popular strips of fabric are lined with glycerin and silica as well as other ingredients. These are typically designed for use across the nose, on the forehead and on the chin. Most of the time the results are immediately visible because when the strips are removed the blackheads can be seen on the strip. If you don’t take preventative action, the blackheads will reoccur.
  • Manual Method – This involves using a blackhead remover tool called a blackhead extractor. The extractor makes a small opening in the pore and forces the blackhead out. This is a very time consuming method and can sometime irritate your skin.
  • Microdermabrasion – This is a method performed in a doctor’s office. It involves the doctor using a rough surfaced instrument on the skin to “sand” the outer layer of skin. It removes blackheads and unclogs pores too.
  • Chemical Peels – This is also a method performed by either a dermatologist or a doctor. A strong chemical is applied to the top layer of skin. This outer layer ultimately peels off, removing blackheads, clogged pores, and other skin problems. There are OTC mild peels but a heavy-duty peel should be conducted under a doctor’s supervision. There can be some temporary discomfort and discoloration from using chemical peels.
  • Laser Therapy – Another doctor-performed method is laser therapy. This will rid your skin of excess oil and kill bacteria that may be present. Laser therapy works to get rid of blackheads by tackling the problem under the surface of the skin.

Ingredients Commonly Found in Blackhead Removers

These ingredients are the most common and used in the most effective blackhead remover products. We listed them below so you know which to look for in the products you are considering.

  • Salicylic Acid – This works similar to benzoyl peroxide when it comes to removing blackheads. The majority of OTC blackhead removers contain this ingredient although the concentration is usually mild in the OTC varieties. For severe cases, prescriptions can be given which have a much stronger concentration of this ingredient.
  • Glycolic Acid – This alpha-hydroxy acid clears away the dead skin and dirt that surrounds the pores.
  • Benzoyl Peroxide – Over-the-counter creams and gels contain this chemical which is an antiseptic and helps to remove oils that clog pores. It also has a slight peeling effect on the skin that helps to encourage new, beautiful skin growth.
  • Retinol – This Vitamin A derivative is considered a very aggressive treatment but it is usually the most effective way to permanently remove blackheads. These prescription formulas are very useful in treating even difficult cases of blackheads and blemishes. This ingredient helps the skin’s ability to shed and rebuild, and you will notice that your pores are less likely to become clogged again.
